Dr. Sandra Carolina Ordonez-Rubiano in the lab

Welcome to the Ordonez Rubiano Lab at Georgia Southern University!

Unraveling transcriptional regulators in cancer.

Dr. Sandra Carolina Ordonez-Rubiano
Principal Investigator

Meet Dr. Sandra

I lead the Ordonez-Rubiano Lab at Georgia Southern University, where we work to unravel transcriptional regulators in cancer. My approach pairs rigorous theory with careful, hands-on experimental work.

Mentorship is the center of the lab. Students work directly with me from their first week — designing experiments, running instruments, and presenting their own results.

Student opportunities

We are looking for motivated PhD candidates and undergraduate researchers to join the lab. If you are curious about chemical biology and want to design molecules that answer real questions in cancer, we want to hear from you.

Research

We work at the interface of chemistry and biology to enhance our understanding of the role transcriptional regulators play in cancer and their potential as therapeutic targets.
